Sketch Book Artists is an online creative resource for digital drawing instruction and design solutions; founded by Mark Northcott in the spring of 2022 while he and his family were living abroad in Guanajuato, Mexico.

The concept of Sketch Book Artists was born in Mark’s imagination after having founded the Calgary SketchBookers in Calgary, AB Canada and establishing a drawing instruction studio in Yakima under the name, Maxin Art Studio before that.

Over 300 members of the meetup group in the first 2.5 years made it clear there was a growing interest in gathering together to sketch and share with like-minded individuals, which is most definitely at the heart of Sketch Book Artists’ vision that Your journey becomes an adventure when imagination lights your way.

People always enjoy spending quality time in artistic settings. Even if that setting is occasionally online.

Especially if they’re getting something in return. That something would be invaluable insight into how to communicate more effectively with others in a visual setting.

Having over 30 years of experience as a freelance artist, Mark’s favourite activity amongst them all is drawing caricatures for people; during events in person or online.

People love receiving their caricatures by email as soon as they’re completed and watching Mark draw them digitally is just an added fun instructional bonus - and what’s more - Mark gets a royal kick out of the smiles he sees at every event.
