First Tee Caricature Event at sozo sports complex

At the end of February expect to find the illustrious Gary McCord speaking at a fund-raising event for Central Washington’s First Tee; a children’s organization featuring golfing experiences as a means to personal enrichment.

I for one, whole-heartedly support this endeavor to help children have a reason to learn through the activity of golf.

This event includes a full dinner, appetizers, drinks, cash bars, dessert dash, silent auction, hole-in-one games, raise the putter, and entertainment from yours truly - the Sketch Book Caricaturist, Mark Northcott, and a professional golfer, commentator and author Gary McCord!

For more information on this event you may want to reach out to Brynn Jacobs the FTCW Executive Director at BrynnJ@firstteecentralwashington.org or call (509) 945-8511.

And of course, remember to add this event to your calendars! There will be a second chance to see me at an event by First Tee in Wenatchee the following evening.

Drawing Workshop & Magic Show!

There’s been a small amendment!

Unfortunately, the Magician cannot attend Ama, however I will still be there!

Perhaps this allows for time if anyone would like to stay after for a caricature drawing….starting ta $20 for an individual or for a special Valentine holiday offer - $35 instead of $40!

At any rate; please join the children this Monday for a Drawing Workshop in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day between 12:45pm-3:00pm. FREE with the purchase of any item; courtesy of the wonderful staff at AMA Cafe!

Monthly Online cosmic smash gathering…

Click or tap on the picture for more info or to RSVP!

From the Host…..

Hi! On Friday, January 12, from 5-7pm CT, I am hosting my monthly on-line Cosmic Smash Gathering. This will be a great time to create your Cosmic Smash Book or to smash a page or simply to ask questions and learn more about Cosmic Smash Booking. Our theme this month will be “Being Present With New Beginnings.”

Please let me know if you are interested in joining us and I will provide the zoom information in a reminder email on Thursday.

A Cosmic Smash Book starts with a simple sketchbook or composition notebook that is transformed into a sacred space to connect to the self and our unconscious.

Cosmic Smash Booking was created by Catt Z and combines art journaling and Intentional Creativity (founded by Shiloh Sophia McCloud Lewis and her mentor Sue Hoya Sellars). Cosmic Smash Booking is a fun and empowering process that engages the five senses to process our internal and external worlds. This is an intuitive process that is playful, powerful, and fun!

The four rules of Cosmic Smash Booking are:

  1. There are NO rules!

  2. Don’t stop!

  3. Have fun!

  4. When in doubt, go back to Rule #1!

Smash Booking is for people who are looking to have fun, express themselves creatively, and transform feelings and beliefs in a fun and engaging way!

The cool part of Cosmic Smash Booking is that you can use whatever materials you have. I encourage you to use what you have right in front of you.

Here are some suggested supplies for creating a cosmic smash book:

  1. Sketchbook, composition notebook, notebook paper, or plain paper. You can staple some pages together to make a book, if you want. The composition notebook can even be found at the Dollar Store. I attached a picture below.

  2. Large paper to make a cover for the book. This could be any paper that is slightly thick like a paper bag. Scrapbook pages, card stock, or even smaller pages that are taped together. Masking tape or washi tape works well for that. The composition books are about 9.75” by 7.5” so the cover needs to be about 17 inches by 12 inches.

  3. Coloring goodies such as crayons, pens, pencils, gel pens, watercolor paints, acrylic paints, markers, glitter pens, etc.

  4. Glue sticks (at least two)

  5. Ribbons (possibly about five ribbons that are at least a yard long each).

  6. Masking tape or washi tape (craft tape)

To vreate a page, grab your Cosmic Smash Book, sketchbook, or paper, your favorite coloring goodies and/or paint and join us for a fun creative practice.

I know that whatever supplies you have will be perfect! Please let me know if you have any questions. This free online gather on the second Friday of each month is sponsored by Ladies of Justice.

Blu's Grand Opening - A Living Art Show

Let’s get ready to celebrate the Holidays right! I’ll bet you’re loving the idea that a digital caricaturist will be drawing your likenesses at this event. That means they are emailed or airdropped to your phone or tablet, and you can share them, print them, or even better - POST them!
